Printing QR code asset labels

Physical asset labels make it fast to identify a device and pull up its record — scan the code, land straight on that device in ClearAsset.

!

Warning

QR code labels are a Professional plan feature.

Generating a label

  1. Open the device you want to label.
  2. Scroll to the Asset Label / QR Code section — a QR code is generated automatically from the device's record.
  3. Click Print Label. A print-ready label opens showing the QR code alongside the device name, asset tag, and serial number (whichever are filled in).
  4. Print it on standard label stock, or plain paper if you're just testing the layout, and attach it to the device.

What scanning the code does

The QR code encodes a direct link to that device's record in ClearAsset. Scanning it with any phone camera opens the device page — useful for stocktaking, maintenance visits, or when someone finds a device and needs to know who it belongs to.

Tip

Fill in Asset Tag and Serial Number before printing — both appear on the label itself, which makes devices identifiable even without scanning.
